All Uptown students have the opportunity to choose from an array of challenging activities that promote participation, a sense of community and teamwork. Students have the opportunity to choose an extra-curricular activity per week and these activities change every semester. Some of the options available include; community focused project clubs, adventure clubs, cooking clubs, art clubs, creative dancing and outdoor sports such as swimming, football, and rugby. The activities that are presented by the teachers after school are included in the annual school fee and form part of each child’s holistic educational requirements as defined by the IB programmes.

At Uptown we have a passion for music and all students starting in Kindergarten are exposed to a customised music programme. Part of the school’s extra-curricular programme allows students to participate in the choir and violin ensemble. However, where individual tuition is preferred there is an additional cost.

We do understand that some students may want to take part in additional activities and where there are enough students we allow external tutors to visit the school or take students to specialised facilities such as golf courses. We strive to provide students with a broad base of extra-curricular opportunities so that they can find the activity that interests them most.
