Uptown Students raise funds for good causes

ECA - Global Inquirers walk-a-thon

As part of the Extra Curricular Activity - Global Inquirers, students chose to participate in the Dubai Cares Walk for Education. In this ECA, students looked at global issues around the world and people who are less fortunate than them. The students came up with the idea of holding a whole school sponsored walk-a-thon (KG-1 to grade 5). The students also made the decision that they would like the sponsor money to be donated to Dubai Cares, which supports and implements comprehensive primary education programs in 24 different countries.

Global Inquirers raised a total of 22,182 dhs, donated to Dubai Cares.

"People Use Media to Persuade Others" Exhibition Fun Fair

Students Mahdi, Jacob, Mohammed, Emily and Alyzeh came together to create an old-fashioned style fun fair as action for their exhibition based around the central idea of "people use media to persuade others". After choosing their issue, child labor, they placed posters around the school to persuade others to attend the fair with the aim to raise awareness on global child labor.
