On Thursday 23rd February our Grade 1-5 students participated in the 6th Uptown Sports Day. Our G3-5 students excitedly headed off on buses to JBS while our G 1-2 students stayed at Uptown School to participate in their sports events. All students and staff arrived wearing their House colours and before long the sound of House chants and songs could be heard in the air.

The students had various challenging events to complete with the aim of gaining points for their respective Houses. There was also the added incentive for the students winning the Outstanding Performer medals for their grades. Both Sports Days quickly became very competitive with students putting in many incredible performances.

At JBS the day was filled with colour and song and the teams ongoing scores remained close throughout. The G3-5 events came to a close with a thrilling 6 x100 House relay race which Dhabi won by a narrow margin. The G1-2 Sports Day finished with all students moving to the sports hall to participate in lots of fun races. Teachers and parents commented on the tremendous sportsmanship displayed by the students. Once both Sports Days had reached their finales it was then up to the scorers to add up the total House points won over both venues. Once again it was incredibly close. Dhabi were victorious on this occasion.

Congratulations to Dhabi for an awesome performance and well done to all students from all the Houses for being part of a thoroughly exciting and competitive day.
